FAITH CMD Ties Up with Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute
FAITH Center for Microelectronics Development (CMD) and Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the 2017 Taiwan-Philippines Industrial Collaboration Summit last September 28, 2017 at The Peninsula Manila Hotel.
CMD is a project by FAITH Colleges: First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities in partnership with Fastech Advanced Assembly Inc and the Center of Innovation and Development in Electronics and Allied Services (C-IDEAS). It supports the electronics and semiconductor industry through its electronics engineering program focused on digital and analog microelectronics design.
The mutual agreement between CMD and ITRI is a beginning of long-term comprehensive partnership that will promote the growth of a vibrant network of cooperating partners and provide greater opportunities, more avenues of collaboration, and business exchange for both countries.
Lionel Belen, Vice President for Corporate Affairs of Fastech said, “This MoU and the future potential collaboration with ITRI are our way of further developing capability, sharing knowledge and expertise, and hopefully seeing more innovation from the Philippines in electronics come to market in the near future.”
CMD and ITRI expressed their intention to cooperate within the scope of their mandates and sphere of competences to work together and share the latest industrial development news and collaborate on talent development, industry tours and forums.
Belen added, “I think it is good to know that Taiwan, because of their Southbound policy, is serious about forging closer ties with the Philippines as its closest neighbor. Taiwan has a lot of technical expertise, we have a lot of raw talented resources so we look forward to more prosperous future for both countries.”
Co-hosted by the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the 2017 Taiwan-Philippines Industrial Collaboration Summit is designed to connect talent and leverage the re-sources of the Industrial Zone, Solar PV System, Machinery and ICT supply chains for both countries.
ITRI is a nonprofit R&D organization engaging in applied research and technical services, aiming to innovate a better future. Founded in 1973, ITRI has been dedicated to helping industries stay competitive and sustainable.
