BBFI partners with OVP for COVID-19 relief and response

Bato Balani Foundation Inc. (BBFI) partnered with the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for its COVID-19 response activities. Since April 2020, the foundation and its staff have been assisting with on-site packing and preparation; delivery of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to hospitals and local government units (LGUs); and meetings with doctors and volunteers.

As part of these efforts, BBFI Program Associate Cindy B. Ramirez has been visiting the Office of the Vice President three times a week. During these visits, she packs and prepares PPE that will be sent to hospitals nationwide. She also assists in other tasks that need to be done at the OVP Headquarters together with other volunteers and the OVP staff.

BBFI Executive Director Ms. Natalie Christine V. Jorge has also personally brought PPE to over 48 hospitals in Metro Manila, Rizal, and the CALABARZON region. She also meets with volunteers and doctors to assess their situations and relay messages of support during these challenging times.

"Visiting the various hospitals to drop off and deliver PPEs was both fulfilling and risky at the same time. Though each hospital visit posed a personal risk health-wise, I was careful in making sure that I was well protected by practicing health safety measures and procedures at all times. I am thankful for the opportunity for the Bato Balani Foundation to provide assistance and express our immense gratitude to the work of all our frontliners," said Ms. Jorge.

AFreight has also provided assistance to BBFI in the delivery of PPEs to hospitals located in Rizal. With AFreight's Logistics team, BBFI was able to plan and map delivery areas more effectively.
