Omni Aviation resumes flight training with enhanced safety procedures
After a three-month hiatus from all training activities, OMNI Aviation officially reopened its doors to aviation-aspirants last July. With the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country, safety procedures inside the OMNI Complex have been enhanced and training guidelines have been augmented as safety precautions.
The ‘new normal’ has also been adapted in the conduct of training at OMNI. Social distancing, mandatory use of face masks and gloves during training, and additional pre- and post-flight procedures that include disinfection of aircraft and training equipment are now strictly implemented.
“The major difference I noticed is how OMNI responded to the situation and made it a safe environment for us when we return to flying. We were required to subject ourselves to medical tests and we were also required to equip ourselves with PPEs,” Louise André L. Medina, a Private Pilot trainee, replied when asked regarding the difference between pre-CQ and post-CQ training at OMNI.
“We also observe social distancing and alcohol is provided in designated areas. Even when flying, we are asked to wear our masks and gloves at all times,” Louise added.
OMNI continues to uphold and abide by the standards and pronouncements of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines as it endeavors to aid in the recovery of the aviation industry.
