First Asia Venture Capital Inc

First Asia Venture Capital Inc. (First Asia) is a venture capital company involved in a number of Philippine-based businesses. First Asia started in 1977 as a management consultancy firm. Since then, it has been involved in mobilizing investments for various small-to-medium sized businesses. By 1983, First Asia was formally established and incorporated as a professionally managed venture capital company.

Presently, First Asia operates more as a direct investment holding company, with an investment portfolio across a variety of industries. In managing its growth, First Asia has strategically positioned itself in companies that exhibit the potential to be excellent in its line of business. As a result, First Asia is presently involved in freight forwarding (AFreight Asia Pacific Ltd and AsiaFreight Logistics), real estate and asset management (Asset Growth Inc), publishing (Diwa Asia Publishing Group), electronics assembly for export (Fastech), education (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities), industrial ecozone development (Hermosa Ecozone Development Corporation), hotel and international hospitality management (Lima Park Hotel), aviation (Omni Aviation Corporation), security services (IXL Lima Security Group), and construction (Agile Construction And Development Inc). First Asia also supports the Philippine startup community through Brainsparks, an innovation and startup hub.

In addition, First Asia strives to be a responsible corporate citizen through the efforts of its socio-development arm, the Bato Balani Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit foundation dedicated to education development initiatives.

First Asia seeks to be involved in ventures where it can make a value-added contribution in the business (other than just financial involvement). This value-added contribution may come from a coherent range of support services that utilizes First Asia's (1) extensive business network, (2) cross-border linkages or (3) strategic management expertise. First Asia's involvement in any particular business usually entails active “hands-on” management, although it also engages occasionally in passive direct investments.

First Asia continues to pursue its vision of expanding its operations beyond the Philippines by setting up operations in other parts of the ASEAN.
