Summit Highlights Opportunities in Batangas
The Batangas Development Summit held last January 26, 2018 at the Lima Park Hotel with the theme Rich Batangas: Bright Batangas focused on the bright areas of Batangas in business, education, and tourism. Among the topics discussed were Revisiting the Competitiveness of Rich Batangas, Emerging Tourism in the Province, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Industry Perspectives on the Growth of Batangas.
The province of Batangas continues to progress and has emerged as a leading hotspot of development among local economies, alongside the Philippines’ high economic growth with a GDP of 6.7% in 2017. According to the National Competitiveness Index, Batangas placed 8th among all the provinces in the Philippines in 2017 making it a key player in lighting the way to the country’s future. Batangas was among four provinces from Calabarzon that made it to the top 10.
As part of the summit, select business leaders received the Key to Province of Batangas from the Governor. The Key to the Province of Batangas is given by Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas to foreign nationals and select Filipino leaders with presence in the province of Batangas. The Key to the Province of Batangas is a symbol of goodwill and appreciation for their support to the growth and development of the province of Batangas. The awards were first given during the Batangas Development Summit 2017. This year, FAITH COLLEGES once again organized the Batangas Development Summit through Brainsparks, an innovation and startup hub engaged in mentoring, coaching, and incubating companies in the Philippines.
