AFreight implements contactless pick up and delivery
AFreight Philippines is doubling down on its efforts to keep its employees and customers safe by implementing contactless pick up and delivery nationwide.
Because of the restrictions of the community quarantine implemented last March, the AFreight management improved their operations by creating safety protocols in the delivery and receipt of packages.
One of which is by eliminating manual and paper-based documentation, which remains prevalent in several logistics and delivery operations. Instead, AFreight’s delivery team took pictures of the balikbayan box with the recipient from a safe distance as proof of a completed transaction.
For locked-down areas, however, the company frontliners were tasked to advise their customers to pick up their packages in certain meetup points designated by the local government.
In addition to that, they were also instructed to practice physical distancing at all times, frequent hand washing and sanitation, and regular vehicle disinfection.
Their Human Resource Management and Development department also provided them with hygiene kits, surgical masks, and face shields which they are expected to use in their daily work.
As an essential business, AFreight continues to find meaningful ways to assist their clients during these trying times by providing responsive customer service through social media and email.
They also encouraged their customers to use and maximize AFreight e-Track, an online tracking system that allows them to monitor the current status or location of their package. Launched in 2019, this eliminates the hassle of calling customer service hotlines and visiting branches to follow up the delivery of their boxes. To date, this technology has also been adopted in AFreight branches in Hongkong, Singapore, and Macau.
“We are very thankful that we are recovering from the disruption brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. A manifestation of that is the increased number of balikbayan boxes that are put under our care. Rest assured that we will do our best to successfully navigate and even flourish during these challenging times,” said AFreight Managing Director Ms. Rosabelle L. Woolf.
